Vintage Navajo Fred Harvey Era Petrified Wood & Quartz Sterling Cuff

The Fred Harvey era (roughly 1890–1930) marked the rise of the Southwest’s tourism trade. Pieces from this period are prized for their hand-stamped silverwork, traditional craftsmanship, and historically significant connection to the early collecting of Native American jewelry in the American West.

This substantial vintage cuff showcases a dramatic rectangular cabochon of petrified wood with visible quartz, creating a remarkable landscape of deep black, smoky gray, translucent white, and rich iron-red veining. It’s depicts wood so old it transforms to stone. 

The heavy-gauge sterling silver cuff features exceptional hand-stamped decoration throughout, including bold sunburst motifs, repoussé silver beadwork, twisted wire framing, and beautifully executed split-shank construction. The distinctive hand-stamped terminals are an especially excellent detail.
